Trademark

A brand or other sign that identifies and distinguishes a company’s goods and/or service e.g. name, logo, words, symbols, or phrase. The trademark is protected for 10 years from the date the trademark application is filed with CIIPO.

Copyright

The exclusive rights given to creators of original literary, artistic, dramatic or musical works, so that they can publish, reproduce, perform or produce such works.

Patents

An exclusive right granted for an invention, which is a product or a process that provides, in general, a new way of doing something, or offers a new technical solution to a problem.  The application is by way of extension of a patent already registered in the United Kingdom and European Community.

Designs Rights

Protects the visual appearance of a product or item including shape, packaging, patterns, colours, decoration and gives exclusive right to use that appearance for up to 25 years. The application is by way extension of a design already registered with the UK IPO.
